Day #1
Downtown Sterling
When you first arrive into Logan County, a great way to get acquainted with this side of Colorado is walking around Downtown Sterling. You will quickly discover the rich and intriguing past of the area through painted murals, historic buildings, and creative artwork. Sterling has also been given the nickname “City of Living Trees” because of artist Bradford Rhea. He transformed dead cottonwoods into extravagant bronze creatures that have been dispersed around town.
Snack at Simkins Parlour
The core of downtown Sterling consists of its small independent businesses, one being Simkins Parlour. This adorable shop is located perfectly, so that you can stop in for a tasty snack. The great ambiance, delicious coffee, fresh food and premium ice cream will make for a relaxing and satisfying lunch before you head to the Overland Trail Museum.
Overland Trail Museum
This museum is truly something you cannot miss when you are visiting Logan County. You will be fascinated to learn about one of the country’s most heavily traveled roads during the days of the gold rush. The museum holds the history of those who traveled miles seeking gold and a better life. Behind the main structure, you will step back in time and get a feel for the area during the 1900’s. Dinner at Parts and Labor Brewery
After a busy day of activities, the best way to wind down is with a cold, local beer. The Parts and Labor Brewery may be the first and only brewery in Logan County, but it certainly started the county off on the right foot. Their locally brewed beer and the food menu will excite your taste buds. The atmosphere of the transformed Cadillac shop makes your experience even more fun and unique!

End the night with Stargazing
